"When things get rough, God would not send you any farther than in your bended knees for prayer" — unknown
I'm feeling grateful today.... Most of all to a loving Higher Power, whom I call God.
The road to recovery is not alway smooth, there are all kinds of curves and bumps along the way. Any time along the road, when I begin to feel tired or worried, I can always look for a rest stop and pull over.... To me, God is that rest stop, He's the one who fills me up and gets me back on the road, heading in the right direction.
Many times throughout the day, I'll find myself closing my eyes and have a private moment to thank HIM for all that I have been given. I ask HIM for advice on how to handle that latest "pot hole".... or ask HIM to forgive me for failing to do what I know He'd want me to do. Often I speak to HIM about my loved ones and pray that HE will keep them safe and from harm, my prayers are always answered, but not always what I expected.... There are always lessons to be learned and sometimes HE will put people, places and things in my life that will show me what I need to be doing.
Always remember, God is there for you, just a prayer away...
Peace on the journey, SG

That thought always comforts and strengthens me...I am not alone...even when I am by myself. For many years I shut out my HP (God) and now that I ahve let him be a central part of my life each day. that's been so rewarding!

Thank you for sharing Lin....
I've been so blessed in my life! Sometimes we forget all the little things HE gets us though, but when we add them up we know we couldn't have faced it with out HIM....
Peace on the journey, SG

Just finished doing an hour of meditation and prayer. It is amazing what you can hear when you listen.
As a priest, who took his vows in recovery said, "It is a wonder God doesn't lean over the side of heaven and tell us all to shut up. We pray and pray and repeatedly ask for the same thing over and over again, instead of leaving things in His hands and then we don't be quiet to hear the answers."
This same man is almost 55 years sober.

Forgot this prayer line was here. Happy that it still it works.
Over the last few years, I never made it down on my knees. I am happy to announce that my prayers were answered, but the few times I made it down there, the experience was phenomenal.
