Ask your body for advice
"The body has its own way of knowing, a knowing that has little to do with logic, and much to do with truth, little to do with control, and much to do with acceptance, little to do with division and analysis, and much to do with union."
-- Marilyn Sewell
Heed your mind
"When you are saying that you are happy and you are not, there will be a disturbance in your breathing. Your breathing cannot be natural. It is impossible."
-- Osho
Get in touch with your soul
"Our inner guidance comes to us through our feelings and body wisdom first -- not through intellectual understanding. ...The intellect works best in service to our intuition, our inner guidance, soul, God or higher power -- whichever term we choose for the spiritual energy that animates life."
-- Christiane Northrup
What I need, I get at meetings. An open mind is about looking at other options rather than my own. For many years, I didn't think I had any options or any other recourse.
When I listen to what others say, I can identify that part of myself that has been buried over the years, learn what I need to nurture it, to change it, and to love it.
I once had a counselor tell me she never saw anyone process things like I did. She said, "You have a situation, you come here share it, go home and process it and when you come back and you have a new thought process." I contributed it to my Higher Power. It certainly wasn't me.
Somtimes the message comes before or after the meeting, not just the meeting itself. Often it is on the way home when something sinks in and the light goes on and then I generally have to laugh at myself for being so dense and slow.
Many things can make themselves known physically even though they are of mental and emotional origin. As Jimmy Durante use to say, "The Nose knows." If I am up to searching things out, the Inner knowiing is there.
