They say that you need only one meeting a week but it might be a good idea to go to one every night so you don't miss the one you need!
Seven days without a meeting makes one weak.

It was important for me to go to meetings, meetings, and more meetings. People in NA didn't always understand that for me, I needed to go to other fellowships besides NA. My denial was about being an alcoholic, not about being an addict.
I did leave AA and just go to NA at one time during my recovery. I went from there to going to Al-Anon when my son started talking about going to meetings. I allowed him his space and I qualified for just about any room I chose to go into. The 12 Seps are 12 Steps. I still go back to NA and I pick up a key tag there each year. I don't go to either fellowship full time, so to my way of thinking, I don't qualify for a medallion. I need to be involved in service for the fellowship and work for it in order to qualify. Staying clean is good and needs to be acknowledged to let others know it works, but it isn't a reward, it just means that I have stayed clean, just for today for 20 years.
I know when I need to go to a meeting. I am hoping to go to the NA meeting across the street this week to pick up my black key tag. Haven't been well enough to go before this, so when the time is right, I will make a point of going over.

They also say meeting makers make it...That is only partially true... What I had to learn was that I had to carry what I learned in meetings out to where I lived and begin to apply it.. For a long time I lived in meetings yet I still hung onto the old behaviors.. In many ways I was still Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde..Oh I sounded great in meetings yet I was still a B**h and a jerk outside of meetings.
One day it finally sunk in that i had to practice the principles and apply them in everthing I did and live the very thing I was saying inside the walls of recovery. Today I continue to practice walking my talk and being the example
