God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17
Isaiah 43:11 (NIV) I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from Me there is no Savior.
Thought: We can be certain about where to put our faith because it's never been a multiple-choice question.

My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. Psalm 62:7
Isaiah 12:6 (NIRV) ...give a loud shout! Sing with joy! The Holy One of Israel is among you. And He is great.”
Thought: It's ok to say "Merry Christmas" to get out the good news.

Listen To God
Hear counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come. —Proverbs 19:20
You may wonder, “How do I know when to confront someone about an issue, and when to let it go?” If you are too eager to set someone straight, it may not be God motivating you. Correction must be done in love to build up the person and not tear them down. Always pray and wait until you know what God wants you to do.
You must be led of the Spirit. If after prayer you still feel that you are to talk to someone about their behavior, be absolutely sure that you are doing it for their good and not yours. If it is what God has told you to do, you may not even want to do it, but it will be done as an act of obedience to Him. Whatever you do, do it in love.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." John 8:12
Luke 2:11 (NLT) The Savior — yes, the Messiah, the Lord — has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
Thought: There's reason to rejoice!

Thoughts for Today
We all experience setbacks and disappointments in life. Sometimes small ones that we shrug off, learn from and move on. But sometimes disappointments have more impact. They stay with us, causing the past to haunt our present—and future.
The setback could be anything—bankruptcy … a failed marriage … termination from a job … a friendship gone sour. Or it might be losing a parent at a young age. Or the death of a spouse or someone else we cared for deeply.
A natural tendency when we have suffered a severe disappointment is to place blame. Perhaps we hold another person responsible. Sometimes we blame ourselves. We might even get angry with God.
Consider this…
God has promised us a future and a hope, but unforgiveness can block our ability to experience all the freedom he has planned for us. As long as we are unwilling to forgive, the disappointment of the past has control over our lives, and we cannot move forward.
It's time to forgive those who have hurt us. It's time to forgive ourselves. It's time to open our hearts to the love and forgiveness of our heavenly Father. And then it will be time to move on to the wonderful plans he has for us.
Prayer
Father, help me to truly put the past behind and look forward to what lies ahead. Forgive my sin. Help me to walk in forgiveness—of others and of myself. In Jesus' name …
These thoughts were drawn from…

Let us then abound in the things of Heaven such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faith goodness against which there is no law nor shall there ever be.

Wherever your journey takes you this week… to the hospital, to the office, to the playground, to the classroom, through treatment, into situations of joy… or challenge He goes before you and He comes behind you. Embrace His care for you today, rest in the knowledge of it. Moment by moment and situation by situation you can trust God with your life. prayer & reflection
Father God, Thank You that You know everything that concerns me today. I place my trust in You to go before me and to come behind me. Remind me, as I walk, that I am encased in Your presence. Help me to choose to rest there and leave my anxious cares in Your hands. I give You my praise and thanksgiving.

Taking special notice of the freshness of God’s creation is one way to help you focus on today as a new beginning. Our lives are surrounded by plastic and glass barriers as we work in offices, commute in vehicles and live in buildings surrounded by busyness. These things can keep us insulated from the freshness of God’s creation. Consciously choose to embrace the joy of God’s creation today. Find some grass and go barefoot… enjoy your lunch outside and watch the clouds overhead. Take a child for a walk. Enjoy a park swing and feel the wind in your hair. Open your eyes to God’s mercy and faithfulness all round you. Listen to the birds praise Him. Choose to see today as a new beginning.

by Gail Rodgers Julie’s stomach churned with anxiety. She was worrying about tomorrow. It’s something we all do. It is important to plan for tomorrow. It’s important to plan how to nourish relationships, how to spend our time and our money wisely and to set goals. Yet we often simply let worry about tomorrow overtake our minds. Soon we feel it in our bodies too. Worrying about tomorrow will rob you of today!
God understands that. He also understands each one of us. That’s why in His Word, the Bible, He gave many examples and encouragement to take one day at a time. Stop for a moment right now and identify the thief of worry in your life. Take what you are worrying about and put it into a prayer to God. Hand that worry about tomorrow into His hands. He already sees tomorrow and will give you the strength to handle tomorrow when it comes. Walk in today. God’s help and strength is a daily supply. He gives it until tomorrow, not for tomorrow.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of God.” (2 Timothy 2:15) Even though we don’t always act in ways that God would approve of, we know that He approves of us as His children and He loves us unconditionally. When we pass that on to those we are in relationship with, it changes our relationships.
