Like this, always believed that anger was a healthy feeling, as long as it is expressed in a healthy way, felt and let go of. It is when I hold onto it and it builds up and then explodes that it is harmful. It is a danger, if fed or ignored. Quote: "Walk Softly and Carry a Big Book" - Book
When things go wrong don't go with them. This quote reminds me of the slogan "Hesitate and Meditate." Think before you are angry. It is best for me to walk away, look at the situation, especially my part, then I can go and express myself in a healthy 'tone' and use kind words instead of being in someones face and space. CHILL! HANG LOOSE! RELAX! DON'T LET ANGER RULE YOUR DAY! BEWARE OF THE DANGER! The Bison's Attributes: Social life, fertility, courage, abundance, prosperity, knowledge, sharing, work, challenge, survival. Visions of buffalo show that prayers are heard, reminding you that nothing is achieved without the help of spirit. eor.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=spuds&thread=12667

I had to be taught that anger can be masking fear. So I ask myself ..."Is there something I am afraid of?" Often I expressed anger, however the root cause was in fact and underlying fear.
It is important, in my humble opinion, to dig deep enough, to the root cause and take a look at those fear and face them then surrender them if they are there or to ask for God's help in dealing with them in whatever way He sees fit.

Thank you, anger masked a lot of things for me. Besides fear, there was rejection, hurt, abandonment, and grief.

I also had anger but mine was more from frustration and disappointment. Fear? yes Hurt? yes....but mostly that anger of being continuously let down and lied to. Broken promises. Somebody not listening to the truth or even caring. Anger that an alkie puts everything and everyone in their lives second to the addiction.
That was my anger.

So true Lin, the addiction is #1 anything and anyone is secondary and of little worth. You are only of worth if you can help them access or feed their addiction. If you are part of the source, or like my son, he feels like I am the harbour in the storm and he can always come home to mother. The other day, he said he would look for a place and take all the chaos away from me. It doesn't matter where he is, he can be anywhere, as long as he keeps coming into my space the chaos is there. It is what I do with it, how I let it affect me or if I allow it to affect me. I have no problems with calling him on his stuff. I don't harp but I have no problems with bringing things to his attention and then just let it go, it is his problem then, it is his choice.

I also like to remember the saying that anger and danger are only one letter different. When I allow my anger to swell up inside I am in a very dangerous spot!

Recently read how we are unaware of how we can change the energy around us, and that we can change things and let go of things by an conscious effort and a willingness to surrender and turn things over to our Higher Power.
No matter what the feeling, we can turn the anger over before it becomes a danger. Before we would be so caught up in it, it would overwhelm us and would turn into an explosive rage or we would internalize and would become an internalized smoldering stew pot.
