D is for DETACHMENT with LOVE. I think this is so helpful to me. At first I thought it meant ignoring or turning your back on somebdoy. Not so. It is jsut learning how to not get sucked into t he chaos of another's addiction.

E is for Easy Does It, ... but do it! A thought doesn't change anything, it has to be followed by action, prayer, acceptance, patience, surrender, etc.

G is for Growth. I need to feed my body, mind and spirit in order to continue to grow and heal in recovery. Growing in new awareness. I like to think of it as growing into the person, my God would have me be in today.

N is for "No one." No one can make you do anything unless you give them consent. No one can hurt you, unless you give up your power and turn it over to them. No one can change you, it is something you need to do for yourself.

P is for Pride. Often it is a false sense of pride that make our head too big to fit through a door. We can take pride in what we have accomplished in recovery, as long as we recognize that we are not the source, and all things come through our Higher Power.

R is for Respond. It is up to us as to how we respond to what is around us. My world thanks to recovery isn't act/react any more. I can take that pause, and ask for help as to how I respond to things and as Lin says, "Don't take it perosnal."
