The mind is a powerful tool. It can talk you into or out of anything and everything. When I am not living God-centered, I become a product of that mind. It can tell me I am just 'fne' or it can tell me I am very sick and not worthy of love and care. It is so important to feed you mind with positive affirmations. I have to remember that all I have is today. Whatever label I choose to wear in today, is subject to change - be it positive or negative. The choice is mine. I am a recovering addict, who used alcohol and other mind altering substances to deal with life. Today, when I hear someone say, "Well I am an addict/alcoholic you know!" I always ask, "So what are you doing about it?" In today, I can substitute one addiction for another. The Twelve Steps apply to all facets of my dis-ease.

While roaming through the site, I saw the link was no longer valid and the picture had expired.
I am reminded that I am addicted to people, places, and things. Just not street drugs, but to alcohol, food, work, shopping, relationships, pills, computers, men and looking for attention, obsessed about cleanliness, myself and how I look and my weight. The drug is not the problem, the problem is me. Challenges we can overcome, when we use the 12 Steps, no matter what our drug of choice is in today.
