U is for Understanding. Through the 12 Steps of AA, I had a better understanding of my God and the greatest gift of all, was finding me. I had to learn to understand my disease and know it was a disease; and understanding that by living one day at a time through the program, I din't have to use people, places, and things to handle life on life's terms. When I stayed clean and sober, I could enjoy people, places and things, because it all begins with me, I have to give in order to receive.

Thanks for sharing Maya, glad to see you keep coming back. I am sorry to say that we no longer have meetings. The moderator of the site doesn't post any more and hasn't participated in deleting old posts that are no longer current. Feel free to contact anyone by sending a message or post anywhere on the site if you have questions. A thread is a new post. If you click on a heading, there are a lot of posts in each section. We have a daily sign in to say hello in the Coffee Shop, feel free to join us. If you have a topic you want discussed, try the search engine, and if you can't find it, post it under Steps, Discussions, and Questions. Looking forward to sharing with you. We are a small group, but we do like to carry the message. I qualify for both sides of the street and qualify for just about any room you put me in.

W is for Welcome. We welcome new members to the site. Our numbers are few, but the site dates back to well over 10 years. I was made welcome and I try to welcome others as they come to the site each day. This is one of my favourite welcome gifs. The spider means "Weaving. "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive." An old saying that I heard from my mother many years ago. When I see it, I remember that I need to go within to find the answers. Sometimes when I can't find them, I pray and ask my God for a little hint, so He knows and I know too."

U is for Understanding. Through learning to understand my God, I learned to know and love myself better. I had a better understanding of who I am! My God is as He reveals Himself to me in today. Sometimes I think Her! Who ever heard of a Him asking for direction???

X is for Xenophobia. It is fear of strangers and aliens. There are no strangers in AA. We all come from the same place. Some may feel or seem a little alien, but remember this is a program of reflection. What you see in others, comes from a place within you. Been there done it, wore the t-shirt. No need to get my thoughts crossed and think I am different. A drug is a drug and the 12 Steps are a common denominator between all the fellowships. The only Xs that I need to worry about is the one, "X marks the spot." This is where I was, this is where I am now. Hopefully there is growth and I am in a good place in today.

Y is for Yield. Yield not to temptation. Yellow means caution. That is why "Yield" signs are yellow. They tell us to be careful when we merge into something.

Z is for ZZZZZs. I need to make sure I get enough "ZZZZs" to allow my body to heal. I believe in the power of prayer and I need to rest in the arms of my God. It doesn't matter what you call your God, it is about finding faith and trusting that your God has you in mind when you turn your cares over to him. For the purpose of this thread, let us call Him Zion, and know that He is greater than all things.
