U is for Unity. That makes me think of the 3 Musketeer's Motto. One for all, all for one. This is a 'we' program.

V is for Victory. When we work our program one day at a time, we have victory over our disease, or dis-ease if you will. It depends on your spiritual fitness and your ability, to pause, say the Serenity Prayer, and ask for help to overcome our stinking thinking, and say "Just for today, I choose not to use." That doesn't mean I don't feel like it, it just means that in today, I choose to maintain my sobriety.

W is for Willing. Willing to have faith in the program and the God of your understanding. Faith will see you through if you put your life into the care of your God. Work through the fear and you will find faith on the other side. Again, it is about willing to be willing.

X is for 'Xtreme. I don't have those eXtreme highs and lows of early recovery. By walking the Steps, I have found a new way to live. Everything doesn't look so eXtreme or so urgent any more. It is one day at a time, and when I stay in today, I never had it so good.

Y is for Yellow. Yellow is a sign of caution. When we find ourselves in a rut and our life isn`t going any where, perhaps we are complacent, and we need to make changes in our life. Yield to the program, turn your life, not just your drug of choice, into the care of the God of your understanding. If you haven`t got an understanding yet, take some quiet time and He will make Himself known to you.

Z is for Zeal. Get excited about recovery. You have been given a second chance at life. Put some zip in your step. If you aren't enjoying recovery, what are you doing wrong?
