In God’s Care Time is a circus, always paking up and moving away. ~~Ben Hecht We can’t hold on to time. Right now is the only time we have. It is the only time we can enjoy the season, hear a child’s laughter, feel the joy of sharing. This time, right nowm is the time to learn something. And it is the time for us to know God. Time is always moving on, but we can stay in the present. To look back over our shoulder, trying to figure out how to change something we did or make someone react differently than he or she did, is futile. When we look ahead, trying to predict the future, we are creating needless anxiety. The present is where we exist. God speaks to us in the present. It is the only time we have to make a connection. Today I will try to live in the present moment.

We need to give love, but be open to receive it too. What we put out, is returned to us.

In God’s Care August 10, 2013God has an exasperating habit of laying his hands on the wrong man. ~~Joseph D. Blinco
At times it seems grossly unfair that we are in the position we find ourselves. Either we aren’t ready to deal with the circumstances we encounter, or the people we find ourselves with don’t understand our problems. We feel we’re with the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. But is this true?
How many times have we heard a nugget of wisdom from an unlikely source? Each of us can remember the comfort of a smile, a kind word, or a piece of sound advice from someone whom we least expected it from. Perhaps this was God’s way of reminding us that we all have value to each other and to God. We are never in the wrong place or in the wrong hands.
I will try to remember that there is a purpose for everything in my life.

In God’s Care
Hope arouses, as nothing else can arouse, a passion for the possible. ~~William Sloan Coffin, Jr
For many of us, the past is sprinkled with endeavors that were never pursued to completion. Perhaps some pursuits were more complicated than we were equipped to handle. But it’s likely that, at times, we gave up the idea, or ran from the struggle, before we’d experienced the first major barrier. Then, unlike now, we were short on hope, vision, and confidence. Most of all, we probably lacked faith that a power greater than ourselves could guide our steps and help us make the decisions that would bring our efforts to completion.
By working our program, we gain confidence and new vision. As our faith grows, so does our connection to God. God is the source of hope, of all the strength and understanding we need for any challenge or creative endeavor.
With hope, nothing is so overwhelming that we can’t move forward, and nothing we really need will be beyond our grasp.
I will make use of God’s gift of hope to overcome any barriers I meet today.

In God's Care
Take all the pleasures of all spheres And multiply each through endless years, One minute of heaven is worth them all. -Thomas Moore
The pursuit of pleasure long occupied too much of our time and attention. Whether through gratification of our senses or the satisfaction of power and prestige, we wanted more pleasure. And however much we got, it never seemed enough. In fact, in one way or another, chasing pleasure always brought us pain.
It wasn't until this pursuit led us into one of life's dead-end alleys that we discovered it wasn't pleasure we really wanted, but happiness. We are learning in recovery to put aside our own desires, at least momentarily, and to offer someone~one a helping hand. In this unselfish instant we find happiness. And we find God. For in helping others, we open a channel to Divine guidance.
Pleasure is an empty, selfish pursuit. I choose the happiness of sharing with my brothers and sisters and finding God's will for me.

In God’s Care
We are only as sick as the secrets we keep. ~~Anonymous
We all have our secrets. Some of them we’re not about to tell anybody. God, of course, already knows them. There may be some things we consider so shameful that we can’t share them with anyone. But shame seperates us from God. It’s a way of saying we are too horrible, too different – it’s a form of false pride.
To hide something means we’re holding on to the shame. Not until we’re ready to admit to God, ourselves, and another human being the nature of our secrets can we be rid of our shame. But when we come to believe that we have nothing to fear from sharing our secrets, God will transform them into something useful and constructive. There is nothing we have ever done that can’t be used to help someone, ourselves included.
Today I will share my secrets with someone.

IN GOD'S CARE · AUGUST 27 .
To give and to receive are one in truth. - A Course in Miracles
Giving our love away, honoring someone in need by giving our full attention, will usually bring kindness and concern in return. And unkindness and neglect on our part are likely to result in the same from others. We will usually elicit that which we've so thoughtfully or thoughtlessly given.
Not many elements in our life are so fully in our control as how we choose to treat other people.
There are few among us who aren't moved by another's expression of pure, unconditional love. We are humbled by it and feel valued. We can honor the existence of our fellow travelers by our open, willing love for them too.
We need to feel appreciated. And yet, to express appreciation is such a simple act, one that has profound effects for all concerned. Acts of kindness multiply very quickly; we contribute to a world favoring our true humanity when we give out loving thoughts even as we receive them.
I will extend the hand of love to a friend today and thus help to make a better world.
