Turn it around
When some part of life disappoints you, turn it around. Turn your disappointment into determination.
If your effort is not moving you in the desired direction, turn it around. Learn from what has not worked, and gain new insight on what will work.
Any time someone is rude, unpleasant to you, turn it around. Be the stronger one who puts respect, consideration, tolerance, politeness into the situation.
Where there is confusion, disarray, ambiguity, turn it around. By adding focus and positive direction, you can add great value.
There is much energy in every person, place, situation, idea you encounter. And there is always much you can do to point that energy toward a beneficial outcome.
Instead of complaining or running away from a negative situation, or making it into an excuse, take the better option. Turn it around.

Too busy
When you say you are too busy to do something, what does that really mean? It means you have given priority, for whatever reason, to something else.
If a large, speeding truck was headed right toward you, would you be too busy to get out of the way? Of course you would not be too busy to quickly jump to safety, for at that moment it would be your top priority.
Are you frustrated because you always seem to be too busy to give time and attention to those things that truly matter? That sense of frustration is attempting to tell you something.
Think for a moment about the areas of your life you value and treasure most. If you’re too busy to give time to them, then ask yourself what you’re so busy doing, and why.
It’s a great excuse to say you’re too busy. But a much better approach is to make time in your life for what’s most important.
Instead of bragging or complaining about how busy you are, consider the ways you fill your time. Make the commitment to do less of what doesn’t matter, and more of what does.

Power of response
You cannot always choose your circumstances, or the events that unfold in your world. Yet in every case what you can choose, must choose, always do choose, is your response.
Today you’ll have multiple opportunities to make that choice. Multiple opportunities to steer life in one direction or another.
If they’re scattered, inconsistent, and without much purpose, your responses are largely wasted. When they’re focused, intentional, positive, those responses will band together and enable great achievement.
Every response matters, because it is part of the overall pattern. Every response matters, because it sets the tone for the next response.
Right now, set before yourself the intention, the commitment to follow a specific positive purpose. Right now, decide to focus all your responses in the direction of that purpose.
You have great power, and it comes to you throughout the day as you respond to whatever life presents. Choose to use that power, in a caring, loving, meaningful way, with each and every response.

Satisfaction of achievement
Achievement is no great mystery. It’s just a matter of doing the work, and today you can do the work.
There’s some step you can take, right now, in the direction of whatever you choose to achieve. Instead of waiting, wishing or wondering, just go ahead and take that step.
Do you feel overwhelmed by all that must be done to reach the goal you’ve set? Instead of letting that feeling discourage you, allow it to inspire you.
Yes, there’s much to be done. And that’s a powerful reason to start getting it done right now.
Are you doubtful that your actions will get results? The way to remove that doubt is to go ahead, take the actions, do your best, and see what happens.
In this very moment, you can enjoy the satisfaction of achievement as you bring it into being. Get to work now, doing the great things you know you can do.

Make it a joy
Don’t make it a chore. Make it a joy.
Instead of avoiding the effort, what if you could be thankful for the opportunity to do it? Instead of resenting the effort, imagine filling it with your own joy.
Each moment is what you choose to make of it. What influences it more than the time, the place, the circumstance, is your attitude.
Be good to yourself and be much more effective at what you’re doing. Find a way to put joy into it.
Let go of blame, worry, anxiety, distraction, and let yourself focus on joyful completion of the task. Feel great about being you, right here, right now, in this situation, able to do what you must do.
You have work to do, and you might as well get the very most out of the time you spend at it. Put joy into it and get maximum value out of it.

Create possibilities
Don’t be weighed down by judgments about what’s possible, impossible, practical, popular. Focus first on what’s desirable, good, fulfilling, then make it possible, make it happen.
Let go of assumptions about how talented you are at doing this or how clueless you are when doing that. Allow your heart to lead you forward, discovering new levels of skill and competence as you move through each challenge.
Work the process, always guided by the purpose. Give attention to every detail, and don’t ever let those details obscure the reason why.
Achievement is a manifestation of how much you care. Where there is meaning, purpose, genuine desire, there is energy for all the necessary effort.
Do what you do in support of all you love. Live your values, your dreams, your highest desires in the work of each moment.
Let your purpose create magnificent possibilities. Live your days bringing those possibilities to life.

Now cannot wait
Now is when good work gets done. Now is when problems are solved and dreams are fulfilled.
Later is where ideas and intentions go to fade away, never to be heard from again. Later is filled with dreams that never came to life, and never will.
Your life deserves your efforts now. Every good possibility is packed into now, and now is your chance to make the possibilities yours.
Now cannot wait, and you must not wait. Now is when you can live, love, think, learn, act and create.
Now is when all of life exists, achieves, enjoys, moves forward. Now is opportunity, and the resources, energy, drive and desire to make something of it.
Every moment you ever have is available only at the time it comes, not before, not after. Now is when you must act, for there is no other choice.

Look forward
Do not regret the time you’ve wasted, for that only wastes even more. Transform regret into determination, and look forward.
Spend not a moment seething in resentment or assigning blame, for that only prolongs the pain. Forgive, breathe deeply, feel the power of your positive intention, and look forward.
Look forward, envision the good you can do, and begin to act on it, right now. Look forward, and let the vision pull you toward it.
Don’t rest on achievements you’ve already achieved. Use what you’ve done as a starting point to do more, and look forward.
Look forward, eager for the journey, for the effort you can give. Look forward, see the difference you can make, and start making it.
Today is the beginning of the best part of your life. Look forward, and make it so.

Bigger than the disappointments
Be bigger than the disappointments. Feel them, understand them, learn from them, and then move forward from them.
Many things can get you down. Nothing has to keep you down.
As difficult as life can be, you can be positive about it. Choose a positive perspective, positive words, positive actions, positive expectations.
In any situation, there is a way to respond that makes the situation better. There is a way to create value.
The troubles can often be big, yet you can be bigger. Seize the opportunity to build strength, capability, experience and resilience.
Experience each disappointment precisely once, refusing to let it echo through your life. Take the energy and turn it toward something good, useful, positive and fulfilling.

Work for you
Do you want life to work for you? Then you must work for you.
Wishing, hoping, sitting around waiting for good things to arrive in your life, doesn’t work well. What does work well, is when you do the work to bring about the kind of life you desire.
The more responsibility you take for your own life, the more satisfied you’ll be with the way life unfolds. The more you invest your time, effort, imagination, creativity in life, the richer your life will be.
It might sometimes seem that a free ride, no effort, no responsibility, would be nice. But that’s not the case at all.
What truly makes life good is knowing you’re deeply involved in making life good. What brings real fulfillment is when you are working, with commitment and persistence, to create that fulfillment.
Give up any fantasy of a fairy-tale life simply dropping into your lap, for even if it happened you wouldn’t like it. The very best life for you is the life you’ve worked to create for you.

One day at a time
Harbor no resentment toward yourself or others for poor choices already made. Learn from those choices and their consequences, and move forward with compassion.
Resentment produces nothing good. Yet well-informed compassion will inject new goodness throughout life.
People do foolish things, including you. Let it be, let it teach you, let it make you more loving and understanding.
Feeling superior will not make you feel particularly good. Knowing you are making a positive difference is what brings a genuine, lasting good feeling.
Seek to guide yourself and others toward positive, empowering choices. Grow stronger, with gratitude for all you’ve seen and experienced, and with love for all of life.
Today’s choices enable you, and those around you, to improve on yesterday’s choices. One day at a time, focus on the good that’s possible and do your best to make it be.

Expect even more
You know what you’ve achieved in the past. Now, you can build on that experience and do more.
You’re familiar with the mistakes you’ve made. Now, you can learn from those mistakes and avoid repeating them.
You know what has worked well before. Build on that knowledge, expand it, apply it in new areas where it can create even more value.
The possibilities for achievement have grown more numerous since you last considered them. Consider what you can now achieve, and get to work on it.
Remind yourself how great it feels to break new ground, to get good things done. Expect to feel that way again, then do the work to make it happen.
You’ve made much progress, and now you can make more. You’ve met many previous expectations so now, take the opportunity to expect even more.

Give life your love
You don’t have to know everything that’s happening right now. You don’t have to fix everything that’s broken right now.
Your purpose is not served by reacting to every little twist and turn of events. Your purpose is served by taking the time to love, to learn, to know, to care, deeply and confidently.
Urgent matters of this moment are immediately replaced by urgent matters of the next moment. Eventually you realize not one of those breathlessly urgent matters, really matters.
Let peace fill you, and with that sense of peace, step away from the chatter. Though you hear the sounds, see the glitter, feel the tension, none of it has to get to you.
Life is better to you when you are patient with it. And patience is always possible for you, no matter what the rest of the world is doing.
What matters is love. Call upon your patience, your kindness, your purpose, and give life your love.

Pick a path
Pick a path and follow it. Decide on a course of action and take it.
When you begin, you cannot know how it will end. What you can do is begin, and keep going.
Something amazing might come of it, or nothing might come of it. Your job is to give your best, to live, laugh, learn and love along the way.
You can’t predict the future. You can act in the present.
If the worst that could happen actually happens, you’ll figure out what to do. If the best that could happen actually happens, you’ll find a way to stay humble.
If you’re consumed with worry about failure, you might as well quit worrying because you’ve already failed. Success and failure are not based on what happens someday, but on the way you think and feel and act right now.

Proceed in peace
Under all your feelings is the truth of peace. Allow each feeling to come, let each feeling go, and peace rises to the surface.
The problem is not the problem. The problem is when you wrap yourself around it so tightly.
Know and trust that you can be fully aware of and involved in the situation, without being consumed by it. Keep yourself connected to the peace that lives at the heart of who you are.
Get out into life and do great things every day. In all that doing, choose to ground your actions and reactions in peaceful presence.
Frustrations, complexity, confusion, conflicts, distractions show up at an infuriating pace. Feel their energy, then let the feelings go, and proceed in peace.
Proceed in peace, and stay true to your values, your purpose, to all you love. Proceed in peace, and enable yourself to continue making a powerful, positive difference.

Envision a positive future
Envision a bright, shining, positive future. Then let that bright future pull you toward it through your attitude and your efforts.
Your future is not an automatic extrapolation of the present. It is built from whatever you choose to create.
It’s easy to claim the world is in a mess and to give up on making things any better. Yet the future has not happened yet, and positive energy you exert in the present directly influences the way your future unfolds.
Envision a positive future, then live each present moment with that vision as your guide. Put the power of your intention to work by giving it a solid, desirable, consistent direction.
Setbacks, challenges, and disappointments are sure to come. Each time they do, recommit yourself to your positive vision, and emerge stronger than ever.
Envision a positive future. And enjoy living your life to make that future real.

Claiming credit
When you’re mistaken, admit it. When you’re correct, let go of any urge to announce how right you are.
Even if what you’re bragging about is true, it’s still bragging. And humble bragging is worse because it is so carefully contrived.
Bragging hurts, and the person it hurts is you. It diminishes you in the eyes of others, and even more significantly, in your own view.
When you brag, you send yourself a negative message. You tell yourself your insights and achievements must be propped up, that they’re not good enough to stand on their own merit.
Do good, useful, productive, enriching things not just to look good. Do them for their own sake, because they are good.
Put your energy into what you’re doing, not into claiming credit for what you’re doing. And you’ll be able to achieve a whole lot more.

Away from doubt
From the very first effort, action begins to replace doubt and fear with courage and confidence. You move from worried and dubious to enthusiastic and effective.
The longer you keep going, the stronger your momentum becomes. Soon you’ll realize you’ve left your doubts far behind.
As overwhelming as doubts may feel, they soon wither under the heat of focused action. As shaky as your confidence seems at the start, it quickly grows stronger and begins to feed upon itself.
It’s understandable you’d be nervous about taking the first step. Yet when you bring yourself to do it anyway, that’s a game changer.
Even a small action will start the momentum. From it you gain the courage, the energy, the passion to keep going.
Go ahead, and take one small yet meaningful action to begin moving away from doubt. Keep going, feel the expanding power of your own intention, and your doubts will soon be left behind.

Make a beautiful moment
Allow, appreciate, accept all that is, as it is, and make a beautiful moment. Let beauty touch you, let joy flow generously from you, and be in this beautiful moment.
Expect the highest and best you can imagine, and work to make it so. But don’t let judgment cloud the value that is already yours to live.
Know that every moment is a beautiful moment. Open yourself, humble yourself, allow yourself to embrace the beauty in whatever form it takes.
What has come before is now a memory, and what will come next is not yet real. This is the time to live, to act, to be thankful, to enjoy, in this beautiful moment.
Let the wonder that’s found in every corner of life amaze you. Let the love, the possibilities, the unique substance in your own life inspire you.
Right here and now, with all that’s going on, make a beautiful moment in your life. Then move forward with the peace, the purpose, the joy and strength to make a whole lot more.

Conduit for goodness
Do something ordinary and remind yourself how extraordinary it is that you are alive and able to do it. Sweep out your garage, wind the clock, water the garden.
Take a quiet walk in the woods or any other place where you can observe life happening. Use the experience to reconnect with what is real, with what is true, with what matters.
Offer a few sincere words of encouragement to the next person you encounter. Fill your heart with simple kindness, and feel how good and right it is.
Imagine that joy is flowing out from you into all that surrounds you. Imagine that even though no one knows where the joy is coming from, they all feel its healing glow.
Open yourself to be a conduit for goodness. And notice how many more positive possibilities you encounter.
Life is worth all the thought, effort and caring you put into making it better. A brighter world is yours to create right now.
