P is for Pride. We can take pride in what we do, a job well done. As long as I don't take credit for the gifts from my Higher Power. He is the Source. When I surrender to my HP, I am empowered to do what I need to do on a daily basis.

Q is for Quiet. Find a quiet place and connect with your God. You can't hear Him for all the internal chatter and/or the buzzing of busy.

R is for Reject. Reject the negative and rejoice over the positive. Don't reject yourself, you are worthy of recovery. The raccoon stands for protection. We need to reject anything that threatens our recovery.

S is for Sobriety. I think of it as soundness of mind. It is something I have to work on every day. I can't have a sober mind if I obsessing about something or if I am worrying or throwing a hissy fit Just because I didn't drink today, it is why I have a program. I need to apply it to all areas of my life, mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical.

U is for Understanding. It is how you understand God to be. Make your God personal to you. It doesn't matter what other people say, it is your God, The only real understanding you need is that your God can't be you. It is not your job.

V is for Very. If I Remember rightly, there was a children's book that said, 'When she was Good she was very ggol When she wasn't good, she was very, very naughty. It seemed to mirror that of myself and my son. As they say, 'Wonder where he got it from."

X is for .Xtraction. We need to eXtract the old to make room for the new. That is why we need to do a Fourth Step Inventory to see what is in there worth saving. I was careful not to point, they told me, for everything you point at, you got three coming BACK AT YOU. Self justification and rationalization, need to go too.

U is for Understanding. Sometimes we don't understand and there are times we don't know. If we don't know, then it is best to stop and wait until we get that inner knowing. If I don't know and question things, we have to remember it is in our God's Time, not ours.

U is for Understanding. I don't understand why my post from yesterday, didn't post. Sometimes we don't understand, so we need to go on faith, and keep trying.

V is for Victory. We are granted victory over our disease, one day at a time. Just for today, I choose not to use. Through the guidance and direction from my God, I don't have to use in today, no matter what the substance is.

W is for Winners. Stick with the winners. Anyone who says sober for one day is a winner. A winner is someone who puts together several days, weeks, months and years together to obtain some sobriety.

X is for Xenophobia. Xenophobia is a fear of aliens and strangers. Many people seem to fear alcoholics. They still carry the old stigma of rubber boos and a rain coat carrying a brown paper bag around a bottle. I will never forget the day a lady asked my sponsee and I to watch her purse while she went to the bathroom. I said to her, I wonder if she would have asked if she had known she was asking two alkies to watch her purse. I am sure she would have taken her purse with her.
