My daughter, Kim, went to the emergency room Xmas eve and early Xmas morning she was admitted to the hospital with diabetic complications. I spoke with her last night and she seems a little stronger (or was it the meds ?) Please add her to your prayer list...... Cherie

Dear Sunny,
I too haven't been here. I am sorry about your daughter. I pray she is better and that her diabetes can be regulated and she will be home again. I have two sisters with diabetes, and one is on insulin and the other is not. I have to have my own blood sugar tested regularly. My youngest sister is on a low protein diet that I have no desire to be one, and I pray that it never comes to that, I love my food too much.
My ex-boyfriend was diagnosed with it last year. Diet seems to be the best regulator of the disease like many other diseases. What we feed our body, mind and spirit is what we become.

Thank you all for the kind words and prayer. I talked to Kim last night and she is hoping to be able to come home today.
Neuropothy and gastropareses are the two of the major complications she has from her diabetes. She was diagnosed juvenile diabetic almost 20 years ago and her drug abuse has wreaked havoc on her body. She is clean today, but the diabetes will continue forever. She does make every effort to eat good foods and follow her diet and she is praying that her doctor will be able to put her on an insulin pump this year.
Thank you again for keeping her in your prayers....
Hugs, SG

I am bringing this back up to the top, as I just heard that Sg's daughter is back in the hospital again due to the same complications. Again, I am asking all of us to say our prayers for her and her speedy recovery. (((((((Sg)))))))))) I am thinking of you and your daughter and hope that everything gets taken care of and sending you lots of prayers to go along with it..

Dearest SunnyGirl, Prayers are going out for you and your daughter Kim and your whole family. Being diabetic I know the smallest thing can trigger off an episode. One wrong mouthful of food or uncontrolled stress physical or mental can send my blood sugars soaring. So I wish you daughter the best. Love you and God Bless, Arlene

Donna,
Thanks for pulling this to the top.....
It's just about a month later and my daughter is back in the hospital again, with the same complications she had at Christmas time when I made my first prayr request.
She has chronic gastroparesis, (the stomach doesn't empty right) due to years of out of control high blood sugars. This time it scared me as her BP was 205/98 and blood sugar was nearly 500. She is "sick and tired of being sick and tired" but is powerless to change it.
Please keep Kim in your prayers. She is clean for almost 4 years and has gone back to school. She feels really good about the direction her life has taken, but these hospital stays really knock her down mentally and physically.
Love to each, Cherie

Thank you all for your prayers......
Kim is home from the hospital and very slowly getting back on her feet. I am building up a real resentment for her doctor and the hospital too, but I'll have to let it go, or drive myself nuts...... They sent her home with a barf bag and unable to keep even water on her stomach. arghhhhhhhhhh
Peace on the journey, Cherie
