My hubby, who celebrated his 1 year birthday clean from pot on Aug 12th has recently had a recurrance of a lower back problem. He is in a lot of pain. They are going to do a CT scan on him on Monday, and his doctor said surgery is a possibility. Please pray for him that he gets relief from his pain (last time this happened, he relapsed in an effort to stop the pain), and that God will heal him.

Hi Diana, OH, I hope that the doctor can find a way to ease his back problems, its not a fun thing to go thru. I will send my prayers for you and hubby that everythign works out with the issue of his back problems. I do know that now a days technology on relieving back pain is more broader than it used to be. Wish him all the luck at a speedy recovery.

I pray they find what is wrong and fix it before he uses it as an excuse to relapse. I know that is on your mind...might even be on HIS. But keep in mind..if he DOES do that, there's not a thing you can do to stop it. Letting go of the fear will make you alot happier.
Praying for you both.

Dear Diana, Congrats to your hubby on his clean date. Way to go !! Prayers going out for his back troubles. There are some alternative measures for back pain that you might want to look into. One is a TENS unit which electrically stimulates the nerves and diverts the pain. Another could be accupuncture. I would question the doctors and find out what is available and suitable for your hubbys problem. Remember when it comes to medicine you are your own best advocate. Ask & question until you get the answers you need. Please check the following website especially the sections on "What is the Treatment" and "10 questions for your doctor". There is a lot of info here that may help. aolsvc.health.webmd.aol.com/content/article/67/80005.htm?z=1728_00000_8000_nd_05Prayers for you and your hubby Love and God Bless Arlene

Lildee quotes:
I have tried this method Diana, and I find it helpful at the times that my back pain was at its greatest pain. Most insurance coverage will cover it for a short term basis. If that can't be done that way, straight out a Tens unit to take home and use, have the doctor give him a P/T order of both aqua therapy and massage therapy that uses the Tens unit too. That helped me also. Just wanted to share my experience. Sure hope things works out for him.

Thanks for the prayers and the advise. Hubby has been diagnosed with sciatica, and the doc has him on vicodin(sp?), a muscle relaxer, and prednisone. We had a safe trip to and from Wisconsin this weekend. I drove because I felt it would be easier on hubby's back for one, and also didn't want him driving under all those meds! It was a 6 hour drive each way. I'll have to check into that TENS thing for him.
God Bless!
