U is for Unity. It I why we identify ourselves as addicts before we share. We are not alone. When one addict shares with another we half and recover from that hopeless state of mind and body. One for all, all for one.

V is for Vanity. This was one of my bigger defects of character. Always worrying about what I looked like. It was a great day when the insides matched the outside.
There have been times when I have questioned what I was wearing. They didn't match, they were too big, they were well worn and old and there time should have passed, but they were too comfy. I found that I no longer cared. I do believe in dressing for success. My sponsor use to say, If you have recovery show it. Clean up your personna, clean up your acts, and clean up your mouth.

W is for Will. My sister said to me one day, You were never known for your will power. I replied, I had lots of will, what I didn't have was won't and the power to say, No. I could be willful, and self-will run riot, and couldn't say no to the next fix be it a person, place, or thing.

X is for Xenophobia. Fear of Strangers and aliens who some members claim to be. I know I alienatted a lot of people, and felt alone and much a stranger because I thought I was differet. I learned to identify instead of compare, I fit in.

Y is for Yellow. The Colour of the sun and caution. Get out into the sunshine for healing. Go to a meeting if you are in a place where you need to be safe. Before coming up on an anniversary, I always try to do extra meetings. I can't we can.  |

. Z is for Zenith.We can reach the top of things by being clean for today, for this 24 hours. I can do no more. We can string those together and get an impressive number, but all I truly have is today. One days thoughts, ideas, concepts, it is all we have.
