Prayers for Rita

This Rita situation in the Gulf is getting VERY serious here. Please
pray for us and for all of Houston.. Our God can calm this beast of a
storm. Please pray that Rita will miraculously fizzle out into a gentle
sea breeze and that the Lord will be glorified and honoured by the taming
of this monster! As it stands right now, we are being told that Rita is
brewing to be a category 4 or 5 and there's a 95% chance she's going to
hit land at Galveston. If this happened, I don't need to outline the
devastation. As for us, she'd still be a category 3 by the time she hit
this far inland. Plus, the entire Houston area (5,000,000 + people)
would be without sanitary water, power etc. for up to three months.

I pray every day for the people who live inthe gulf right now. It has to be terrible to lose everything. I really dont htink I could go back and rebuild. I think I'd have to make a fresh start in a new city.

My minister comes from this area and he shared this morning that Real Estate brokers are buying up the land in flooded area and selling it at a higher price than insurance value, and people who owned the land aren't able to rebuild their homes. Humanity gets lost when the all-mighty dollar takes over.
