[glow=red,2,300]C is for ......... change. To find peace and serenity in our lives, we have to change - a challenging, and perhaps fearful, thought. We may have to re-learn to take care of ourselves. When we are focused on another person's alcoholism and behavior, many of us develope the habit of putting that person's needs first. We may not believe that we deserve to take time for ourselves. But we learn that the only ones that we can change is ourselves.[/glow]

I is for I STATEMENTS...
I learned at a rehab nearly 11 years ago, that an important tool in communicatin is I STATEMENTS. It puts another on the defensive if I confront them with "When You do so and so, You make me angry." Instead it is " I feel so frustrated when I can't ....etc" It takes the blame off of the other person and helps them see how I am feeling without an accusing finger pointing at them.
