U is for Unite. When we unite together, we are no longer alone and can fight this disease together as a united front. We can do what I can't do alone.

V is for Valiant. All we are asked to do is give a valiant try to be the best we can be. Some days I fall short of this, other times God excels beyond all my expectations. He gives me the valor, the courage, the strength, the direction, and meets my needs for what I need in this twenty-four hours.

W is for Willing. Willing to go to any length not to pick up a drink or a drug. Willing to not go back to where I come from. Willing to not act out in old patterns and behaviors. Willing to change.

X is for 'Xactly. I am exactly where I am suppose to be. When I get off track, my HP brings me back in line and when I miss a lesson, He keeps bringing it back time and again, until I learn it.

Y is for Yet. I haven't done it yet, but who is to say that if I picked up a drink today, that I would try all those things that are new out there. This is a progressive disease.

Z is for Zero. As the literature says, "When our scorecard read zero, we had to to make a decision, to keep coming back to recovery or run away in fear from ourselves. I am glad that I didn't have to go all the way to the dump to make the decision to heal and change.
