I'm with you on this one Misty. Keeping the attitude of gratitude is what it takes to be greatful. When i first heard people say they were greatful members of AA or greatful members of AlAnon I thought i'd walked into the loooney bin. today I understand I am greatful to have found such a wonderful way to live my life. Living my life with the 12 steps and other recovery tools allows me to cope with whatever comes my way.

Dear John----In the Big Book it talks about happy, joyous, & free but it also talks about TRUDGING the road to happy destiny....I am grateful to know both sides of sobriety. Thanks for stoppin by! Mistyeve
Dear Lin---YEAH!!!! The cringe factor gets real high even now when I hear people claim to be grateful alkies!!! It does sound kinda phoney and blow sunshine up I disagree kinda talk. I do really understand what they are saying but I have a hard time sayin it out loud. I would rather practice it then say it. Just my own ideas on this!!! Glad you could stop by Mistyeve

Put some attitude into your gratitude is one of my favorite sayings.
When I forget to say thank you, I go back to acting out in my disease and I become the selfish, self-centered person who thinks she can play God with her own life and that of others.

Afternoon Mistyeve,
Grateful for sure. Grateful that the heat wave we have been having is finally breaking. Almost two weeks of straight 90 degrees and humidity. Power companies were playing games with rolling brown outs. (Though they deny it. Duh then you tell me why I couldn't power up my computer or that the air conditioning was barely working.)
I know I have no control over these things but I sure am grateful when we have pleasant surroundings and things work as they should.
Love & God Bless Arlene

Dear Arlene----We had a heat wave here too and the lights would flicker a lot. I just can't take the humid stuff. The hot is not so bad if it is a dry hot. I don't know if that made any sense. Glad you got your puter booted up and could stop by today!----Mistyeve
Dear Caressa---An attitude of gratitude is a real important part of my program. I try to not play God cuz God does a lot better job of that then I do. Thanks for stopping by!----Mistyeve
