Tuesday chip- forgiving/resentful

I went looking at the lsit of chips for RESENTFUL and it's not THERE! So i went to the booklet Blueprint for Progress and found it with the counterpart---FORGIVING.

Right now I am having some resentments. Perhaps they could be called disappointments...but they are gonna be full blown resentments if I dont handle them very soon.

A lady at my part time job took my members cards with her to discontinue. (you dont come for 6 weeks, we send the cards back) She took them to work to do it. When she did nto being them back I asked if she put my meeting number on them and she said NO..jsut the location number. That means I dont get any credit for the 2 stacks of cards she discontinued. We get monetary awards for the ones with lots of long term weeks. I had several on their 2nd and 3rd card. I'm becoming resentmful that my co-worker did such a thing and it makes me look bad...like i dont have ANY people coming to mine. I have no idea what they will do with the ones with no dat/time number. ...perhaps give them to the lady who ahd the most meetings...which is not fair either.

I will see her tomorrow night. I will explain to her again that it is very important that day and time are on the cards. I will ask her not to take my cards to work and discontinue them any more. I'll TRY not to get angry when I talk to her.

Then to use my program further...let her know what she did was unacceptable, ask my HP to help me be rid of my resentments....pray for the lady...that her HP will give her what she needs today.

Not really any reason to call in forgiveness here...it cant be taken back. They were mai8led a week ago. Cant bring it back...jsut make sure it is handled properly from now on.

Wow---not sure how resentment/forgiving stayed off the list.....LOL But I think I'd like if it did! 'Course, I'm the one in charge of that one, huh?

Resentments are on the top of what I inventory daily over and over and over again. Them little buggers crop up where I least expect them too. It's those unresolved little angers that I can convince myself I'm letting go of that come back to bite me in the rear. Darn good reason to resolve/reconcile when it's going on, huh?

I've had the humility of going back to resolve and confess resentments that I've held onto forever--only to discover the other person had no memory of the incident and had NO clue what I was even talking about. Boy...was THAT an awakening. I've also been on the receiving end of someone else's resentment--which was a whole 'nother awakening!

I do think I'm working up to a resentment with the boy and how his decision making while out practicing the disease is affecting the lives of innocent people. I don't like it and I can let myself get d**n mad over it. Not much I get to do to change it or control it--
Probably better keep tabs on that one...LOL

Ya know, I much prefer to be forgiving today. It makes life much more relaxing and comfy and peaceful.
Guess making that choice IS a solution readily available to me, huh?

My 'unforgiving' attitude brought about a lot of anger and pain. I have to remember I need to do it for myself not for the other person. Having a forgiving heart is difficult for me when I see so many people 'not caring' and 'not doing' when they know better, especially when it comes to carrying the message and helping others.

I do have trouble with forgiving myself. I know I have high expectations of myself and have trouble accepting my own humanness. This is because I hear a lot of people say, "Well I am only human, what do you expect? I am an addict, that is what addicts do! I am an alcoholic, what do you expect!" I would suggest working a program and making changes in your life so you don't continue acting out in your disease. I know I can still go back there, and slip into my old patterns. I am grateful that I can see it and make the changes I need to bring me back into recover instead of acting out in my disease.

One of my resentments was doing the chips in order, it seemed more spiritual to draw the, as you were spiritually guided. I never thought that the order they were typed was spiritual in nature. Each of us has their own esh, and in order is okay because if I don't need it today, I am sure it will make itself known at another time.

Hmm just guessing why forgiving/resentful was not on the list.... maybe because anger/self control is, which is a form of the first.

In my case right now I honestly can't say that I am forgiving or resentful. The anger has passed and I am using a great deal of self control to keep my mouth shut .

There was a quick daily prayer that was passed on to me it goes something like this:-

Please God, put your arms on my shoulders and your hand over my mouth.

I know forgiveness will come in God's time not mine.

Graced...I agree...when I am in the FORGIVING mode I am much happier and probably much happier to be around. I also cant see why it was not on the list. Misty had 'her" list of the chips and then I made one with a few more. I am not sure how I missed that one. But it's obvious I needed to work on it.

And Caressa...I dont think misty ever went in order. She USED to pick them and reply to the one she picked. But one day she had a freind who wanted a set of chips and she gave her 'her" set. So after that she jsut picked the one that seemed to fit her life that day. I also ahve a set of chips. Sometimes i pull one out and that is the one I share on. Sometimes I look at the lsit and see which one I need to work on. For my set I bought little wooden circles at a craft store. I used am extra fine point sharpie and wrote the words. Sorry the order chips were pulled almost gave you a resentment. I'm certain nobody ever intended it that way.

And Lildee...you may be onto something...anger and self control are CLOSE. But I really think forgiveness and resentful needs to be added. I lvoe the prayer abtu the hand over the mouth.
