The TV has been on here all week...on the CNN or the FOX network. We are watching with horror the devastation of whole cities and it's right here in our country.
My school system is collecting money to send to Shreveport. There the Catholic school has opened its doors to any students who want to go to school at no cost. They will be hiring teachers who are also displaced by the storm. The families are taking some into their homes and others will stay in empty buildings that were recently closed schools. I think it's a wonderful way to help. So yesterday I wrote a check for 10% of my paycheck. There are trucks here loading up with water and cleaning supplies and baby items. I will put soem thigns on one of thsoe trucks also.
Seeing how horrid those people who stayed behind had to live is shocking. But it was a natural disaster that was beyond anybody's dreams. They could not get trucks in...so how did they think the government woudl be able to help? Then some shot at the rescuers, looted and set fires...very sad. Help is onthe way. No need to blame.
I'm a very generous person. I give what I can...be it time , talents or treasures. If you read the chip 2 days ago you can see I even gave a co-worker my SLIP on Thursday. LOL
Are you generous or greedy?

Thank you for sharing Lin, you do have a generous heart. I too like to give when I can although I don't have much money to give because of being on disability and a fixed income, I do try to give of my time, energy and money when I can. I am often reminded that I have to give away the overflow, to make sure I have for myself, so I can be there for myself and others. Yet when I see all the disaster and the trauma around, I am grateful that I have what I have. I have been truly blessed and I try to share those blessings with others.

I totally agree Caressa. My spouse is on a fixed income and disability. If he was still working I could ahve given more.
But I always try to PRAY in cases like this. That does not cost me anything but time.
Being grateful for wht we have really keeps me grounded. I see it does youtoo.
THANKS for posting!
