Better late than never they say, so I have decided to share my day with you.
Went to my doctor's this morning and he informed me that I have osteo arthritis in my left hip. Thanks to this program, I didn't say to him, "Tell me something I don't know!" although I must admit to the thought being there.
He also informed that I have calcium build up in my right knee and that the only thing that could be done for it was steroid shots and I informed him "Tthat won't be happening any time soon." I had shots of cortizone in my back several times in my 20s and 30s and I know that you can become immune to them. When I came into recovery my new doctor stopped giving them to me.
From the doctor's I went to my Al-Anon meeting and this week was topic discussion. It was at this group that I started the ABCs discussion and today was the letter F. I shared on how my fear had been turned into faith and that although I still had fears that I could ket them go and turn them into faith thanks to this program. It was a special meeting because we had a newcomer at the meeting who also decided to come with us for coffee afterwards.
I have had a lot of pain today and had to lay down this afternoon for a couple of hours. I am grateful that I can give myself permission to do that. When I came into recovery I used to use my bed to escape life and hide from reality. I had to learn to look at things in a healthy way and realize that sometimes, because of my pain, that I do need to take a time out and it is okay.
I am grateful for this program and I am grateful that EoR is here for me and I have the chance to share with you.
