V is for Vanity. This was one of my biggest defects of character. I was always fearful of what other people thought of me. Afraid to put the wrong foot forward, say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing, and always wanted to make sure the outside looked good and neglected the inside.

X s for Xenon. It is a chemical gas and reminds me that I don't metabolize alcohol as normal people do. This gas is used as general anaesthetic. For many years I used alcohol as an anaesthetic to numb my feelings and hide from the world. In 1939 Albert R. Behnke Jr. began exploring the causes of "drunkenness" in deep-sea divers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenon
