This poem didn't exactly fit in the humor section but it didn't seem quite right for Pearls of wisdom either. So this is where I put it.....

I just want to let you know, That I did hear your prayer. But I had to answer no, Though you think me unfair.
I won’t cause a limousine To crush your girlfriend’s cat. I will not make Barry Bonds Break his favorite bat.
I don’t care if the Vikings Ever win a Superbowl. Or if your precious Redwings Ever score another goal.
George Bush won’t have a seizure, And Britney won’t pose nude. And I can’t make Eminem Adjust his attitude.
By the way, while we’re at it, Please stop asking me, To help you with your numbers, To win the lottery.
And the next time you make love I’ll ask you to refrain, From waking up your neighbors, By screaming out my name!
And why do you keep praying For me to make you rich? I am not a leprechaun, A wizard or a witch.
I can’t stop the mailman From sleeping with your wife. Anymore than I can force you To somehow get a life.
I have my limitations, Some things I can’t fulfill. It is because I love you, That I gave you free will.
If someone must make a choice, I’ll whisper in their ear. But the choice is theirs to make, I cannot interfere.
So the next time that you pray To be a tennis pro. I hope you will understand When I must answer no.

Dear SunnyGirl, I love it. For many who pray to God that is all they can do ask for things. THINGS. They do not ask for the guidance needed to obtain those things. God isn't going to give you a red Corvette. But He may give you the knowledge of how to obtain that car. But you have to be open to His guidance and listen for the little whisper in your ear and heart. Love ya Arlene

I ROFL on the line abot the Vikings winning a superbowl. We are HUGE Vikings fans for over 20 years.
I learned when my prayers were specific and I was telling GOD exactly what I wanted him to do and when I wanted him to do it, His answer was usually NO. I have also learned sometimes his answer is NOT RIGHT NOW. But when I changed the wording my prayers. "Keep him safe today" "Let him hear what he needs to hear" "Give her strength to deal with this" "Give her something good in her life" "Guide my words today"
those prayers seem to get better results.
A few eyars back my husband was out drunk. I had not seen him since I got home from work .but a freind called and he had left their house about 3 and was much too drunk to drive and woudl not allow them to drive him home. I did not panic. I didn't start calling hospitals and freinds. I did not pray for God to send him home or sober him up. Instead I asked God to keep him safe and keep those on the road with him safe. And God did. I was able to go to bed and sleep. About midnight I got his call from the jail. He was safe and had been there for hours sleeping it off. My prayers were answered. I got what I prayed for. He was safe. Those on teh road were safe. ANd he was sleeping it off. God may not have answered like I expected, but he DID give me jsut what I prayed for.
I have heard it said..be careful what you pray for because you jsut might get it!
