We All Come Together

An old online friend spelled God as G-d. I love it, because to me it means, "Fill in the blanks." It is my understanding of God and it is personal. It doesn't matter whether it is a religious God or a recovery G.O.D. Group of Drunks and Drug Addicts showing me a new way to live. Both work for me, because my recovery came from the people in the rooms of recovery. My God got me there. He lead me there. He gave me the courage and strength to stay there, and continue to walk with Him/Her one day at a time. As the saying goes, "Who ever heard of a Him asking for direction." I need that Good Orderly Direction every day.  |

FREE TO BE YOU
Watch your attitudes, know that you are responsible for yourself and not others. Realize that all judgment of, criticism of, condemnation, and anger towards other people is to be released to their own good. Bless all people as they travel the highway of life and always remember that you are free to be you. And therefore, everybody else is free to be themselves.
Begin to enjoy everyone around you. Keep in mind that love, intelligence and courage is always present enabling us to always be who we are. We can rise up and accomplish all that we desire and maintain the joy, happiness and fulfillment we seek - all we need do is practice our spiritual exercises, study and act as we believe with deep faith. II TIMOTHY 1: 7 reads, "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but the power and love and sound mind."

God is the Father your heart has been longing for. God has work for all His children regardless of age or ability. God has more answers then we have questions. We shouldn’t pray for things, we should pray for the knowledge of God’s will and the power to carry that out. God hears and sees everything we do. When praying, don’t give God instructions, just report for duty. God has something for each of us to do.  |

Five-Finger Prayers by Our Daily Bread
Pray for each other. James 5:16
Prayer is a conversation with God, not a formula. Yet sometimes we might need to use a “method” to freshen up our prayer time. We can pray the Psalms or other Scriptures (such as The Lord’s Prayer), or use the ACTS method (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication). I recently came across this “Five-Finger Prayer” to use as a guide when praying for others:
• When you fold your hands, the thumb is nearest you. So begin by praying for those closest to you—your loved ones (Phil. 1:3–5).
Father, give me the wisdom to know how to pray for others.
• The index finger is the pointer. Pray for those who teach—Bible teachers and preachers, and those who teach children (1 Thess. 5:25).
• The next finger is the tallest. It reminds you to pray for those in authority over you—national and local leaders, and your supervisor at work (1 Tim. 2:1–2).
• The fourth finger is usually the weakest. Pray for those who are in trouble or who are suffering (James 5:13–16).
• Then comes your little finger. It reminds you of your smallness in relation to God’s greatness. Ask Him to supply your needs (Phil. 4:6, 19).
Whatever method you use, just talk with your Father. He wants to hear what’s on your heart.
Father, give me the wisdom to know how to pray for others.

Got this off a post by SG in the Al-Anon section. I figured it qualified to be here.
Dear God,
I am powerless and my life is unmanageable without
your help and guidance. I come to you today because
I believe that You can restore and anew me to meet my
needs today.
Since I cannot manage my life and affairs,
I have decided to give them to You.
I put my life, my will, my thoughts,
my desires and ambitions in Your hands.
I give You all of me: the good and the bad,
the character defects and shortcomings,
my selfishness, resentments and problems.
I know that You will work them out in accordance
with Your plan.
Such as I am, take and use me in Your service.
Guide and direct my ways and show me what to
do for You. I cannot control or change my friends
or loved ones, so I release them into Your care
for Your loving hands to do with as You will.
Just keep me loving and free from judging them.
If they need changing, God You'll have to do it; I can't.
Just make me willing and ready to be of service to You,
