Is it a friend worth a buck?
I run in moods and at times call a lot of friends long distanct. I know a lot of people hate to make a long distant call. But now days it isn't that bad. Some times I have extra minutes left at the end of the month and if not I use my calling card. The card runs about 3 cents a minute. So a 30 minute call cost less then a buck. I know for a fact it often makes my day and then some and thinking it does the same for some that I call. Some of my alki buddies hate to spent that buck on a call. But the same ones had no trouble dropping a hundred or two a night to look good.
So is a friend worth a buck? Just a little something to think about.
Now that duck season is over I can come out of hiding haha.

Point well taken..... (hunting season is over?)
My problem is, I keep losing my phone numbers.
Actually the last few months I have gone over my limit on the cell phone and paid a bundle on my land line. With "Honey" calling Greece and me checking up on my Mom, my phone bills have been outrageous.
and I have to agree with Lildee, a friend is priceless! ~SG~

Dear Mr Duck----I have a problem with the phone. It seems to weigh about a thousand lbs. I don't mind talking on the phone but there is a mental block about picking up the phone and calling. It may have something to do with pride or self esteem. It puts the psycho in psychological to try to figure it out!!! I think it is worth a dollar in the basket at an AA meeting to hear friends talk----Just my own opinions!!! Great to see ya post!! WELCOME BACK!!!------MISTYEVE

Absolutely worth that buck! I try to call my out of town freinds every few weeks. I took long distance off of my phone at home and buy those calling cards they sell at Wal Mart. (another excuse to go to WM>..lol) And I also use my rollover minutes on my cell phone alot to keep in touch. Lildee is right on target. Friends ar priceless. And mistyeve saying you had a mental block about picking up the phone? Well..when I first forund recovery and got a phone list..i was scared to death to call anybody onthat list. I was afraid they might be having a chaotic time at their house like I was at mine and I'd be disturbing them. But you know what? I tried it and it seemed when I called to chat with them, they appreciated it instead of were put off that I might be disturbing them. It was almost like my call gave THEm the lift THEy needed. Thanks for the post Mr. Duck. I will make some calls this weekend. LIN
