A is for Apply. The spiritual principles of the Steps and Traditions need to be applied to our daily lives. We need to apply ourselves to our program, a day at a time.

D is for: Denial
Denial and acceptance are opposites. One hides from a situation or problem and the other meets it head on. Having denial won’t wish away our problems, situations or issues. Acceptance of what is allows us to make the changes in behavior that will lead to healing. - - Barb Kampbell

E is for Enoy. Enjoy your recovery. Remember to take time out for yourself and enjoy this new thing called sobriety. Remember Rule 62, don't take yourself so darn seriously. It is a life and death program, yet it doesn't have to be doom and gloom, it is about light and love.

G is for Gratitude. When I put some gratitude into my attitude, I give back to others what was so freely given to me. Without you, there is no me. This is a 'we' program. Without you, I am back in isolation of the spirit as well as the body and mind, and that is part of my disease not my recovery.

I is for Intellect. It doesn't profit me to intellectualize and try to figure out this program. The best thing for me to do is to turn things over to my Higher Power and go with the flow. My best thinking got me to the doors of recovery. So continuing to think I know what is best and what is right, puts me back playing God with my life. I prefer to preface everything with 'God willing' or end it with 'Thy will not mine be done.'

The choice is ours: Which do we want more of?”

S is for Stop. Stop and look around you. What direction are you going? Are you grounded and in the moment or are you racing around, with no purpose and understanding of what is in the moment. Did you stop and ask your Higher Power to come along with you? Did you stop and say a prayer and do a meditation before you started your day? If not, please stop and do it now!
Stop, look, and listen. Enjoy the scenary on the way!
