THINK - THINK - THINK
This was the topic for the meeting last night and I am still running it through and trying to process it. Such a simple slogan, but it means so much to me.
The dictionary defines Think: 1. to have a conscious mind, to some extent of reasoning, remembering experiences, making rational decisions, etc. 2. to employ one's mind rationally and objectively in evaluating or dealing with a given situation
I am taking these definitions to mean, before I act I need to reason things out before responding to any situation.
Today I was reading on-line and ran across another term used with THINK... Kids use it as a reminder for safety rules!
STOP - LOOK - LISTEN
Before I open my mouth and insert my foot, I can Stop! And then I can Look at what my part in it is Then take a few moments and Listen for spiritual guidence... What would my Higher Power have me to do....
Taking these few moments to STOP-LOOK-LISTEN... If I still choose to get in the middle of an argument, it is a conscience decision and not just reacting to something someone else has said.... Now I have to own my part in it!
Need to hang onto these thoughts and put them to use ODAT...
Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl

Great post, I have been thinking of it today also. Want to add our Canadian slogan "Hesitate and Meditate" to the list.
As I shared last night, it helps me to stop putting my foot in my mouth and stops me taking my foot out of my mouth to put the other one in.
It also means that I need to give little thought of yesterday, not project too much thought into tomorrow, and focus on today.

Yep, "Hesitate and Meditate" is a great one to add to the list.
Found the quote below that seems to go along with my thoughts....
"I have never been hurt by anything I did not say." - - Calvin Coolidge
By thinking before you talk or just not saying anything prevents not only you from getting hurt but it also prevents you from hurting other people. If you do not think before you talk you can really hurt people's feelings. It can make you will feel like dirt and really regret saying anything.
Sometimes it is good just to plug up your mouth with something so words don't accidentally come out. ;D Hugs, SG

Found these lyrics to an Aretha Franklin song. I like how it talks about freedom. It talks wanting to let go of the past, live in today so they have a future.

When I see this slogan, I am reminded of the guy who shared that he couldn't use this slogan because he couldn't do three things at once.
