Hugs not drug! Such an awesome slogan. It was one of the things that kept me going to N/A which some people don't feel comfortable about giving. I always try to say, "Do you do hugs?" I try not to invade someone's space.
Hugs are a transfer of energy when done in the spirit of things that says, "You are not alone, I am here for you, glad to see you."
Hugs can be done with the wrong attitude and some people just want to 'cop a feel' but I have found that if you put your hands on someone's arms above the elbow, you can set a boundary.
Hugs are about how you feel emotionally, not about how you feel physically. Sometimes you need a hug to make you feel better and seldom have I received a heart felt hug and not felt the better for it.
Hugs are a transfer of energy. It is always extra special when both people are heart felt and come from the right place and space.

"Everybody needs a hug. It changes your metabolism." - - Leo BuscagliaI meant to respond to this post several days ago and it slipped my mind. Enjoyed this thread a lot. I am really into hugging, most everyone who comes in my door gets one coming and going. I also enjoy the computerized (((((Hugs))))) I get on-line and in the meeting here at EOR, I can almost feel them through the screen. Have a bit of trivia for you.... I had to smile when I read this and am not certain of the truthfulness of this article. ;D But I can tell you that some people tend to be a little over enthusiastic with hugging, my Honey is one of them. His hugs are so strong I have to caution him, "not to tight or you'll break my ribs." My hug is just a quick one and includes a little peck on the cheek! Have a great day my friend.... Hugs, SG

Thanks for sharing. Rather ironic, that the person who thought up the slogan should die as a result of not heeding his own words. This disease is cunning, baffling and powerful. We know better, but do anyway. We may not pick up our drug of choice, and end up substituting, which leads to the old thinking, and takes us back to it and we wonder how we got there. That is why we have to be ever vigilant.
