“I always have two lists: things I’m happy about and things
I’m not. It’s my choice which list I focus on.” —Anne Arthur
Having happiness doesn’t mean everything in our lives has to
be perfect. Sometimes I really have to stretch my imagination
to find it, because all I can see are the troubles. But then I have
one of those light bulb moments and begin to look around me
at all the blessings I've been given.
I've always been a believer in the gratitude list and I think it's
safe to say that the things I am grateful for always out weigh
my troubles.......
The economy sucks right now.... But I have enough that I don't
have to fret to much about it. (thank you Lord)
My Mom has dementia..... But she so far has never failed to
recognize my voice on the phone. (thank you Lord)
My Son is actively drinking..... But he still calls and drops by
to let me know he is not in the hospital or jail. (thank you Lord)
My Daughter is addicted to pot.... But she is no longer using
hard drugs, is relatively healthy and appears to be taking care
of herself. (thank you Lord)
My Sister & Brother-in-law are actively using prescip drugs and
drinking along with it..... But today she sounded clear headed
and they now live about 1200 miles away from me. (thank you Lord)
My list could go on and on, but when I look around me I see
so much happiness. Keep your eyes on your blessings instead
of focusing on possible hardships.....
I love each and everyone of you..... Cherie
