Today is a good day for reflections!
I met my wife in a bar. We drank together alcoholically with everything that goes with that life style. Our story was in the movie "The Days of Wine and Roses" with one exception....we both joined AA and after a period of "slipping" got and *stayed sober*!
That was 30 years ago and today is our 37th wedding anniversary.....there has been good years, bad years and the in-between years.....but this is called "life"
During these years we are both still grateful we found the "program", the "fellowship" and through these.....God!
Today, we still realize DINAO (Drinking Is Not An Option).......no matter what!
Today, as I battle cancer and Lucy seeks relief from the pain due to her back surgery...we still attend meetings.
Yep, today is a good day to reminisce and remain grateful!

Ty for sharing your story. I look at movies still and can easily go back to romancing the drink.
