"Addiction is a physical, mental, and spiritual disease that affects every area of our lives." Basic Text pg. 20 eor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=spuds&action=display&thread=10208When I read this yesterday, I thought, if my disease affects all areas of my life, that means I have to work the Steps in all areas of my life. I have to look at all addictions from a mental, spiritual and physical viewpoint. In today, I am using the Steps toward my eating disorder and my chronic pain. I have been having problems cooking meals and have thrown out a lot of food as a result. I am too sore or tired to cook and often end up eating unhealthy things and in a unhealthy manner. Today was a day of pain. I kept asking myself, what can I do to let it go. In the past, I would have doubled up on the pills. Instead, I had to double up on my prayers.

It is okay to respond to old posts. When I am hurting, I often go back and look at old posts to find my answers. It is amazing how things can speak to you, even if they are several years old, they help me in today.
Thank you for sharing, we do appreciate new members who participate on the boards.
