Letting Go

This reading isn't for today, but it spoke to me when I found it on my site Soundness of Mind.

I really liked the part about going with the flow instead of trying to straighten everything out. When I look at my life, I bent or broke just about every rule going just to prove everyone wrong.

Letting go of those old tapes and making new ones are necessary for my recovery.

I can't, God can, just for today, I choose to let Him/Her.

Letting go

If addiction is about control, recovery is about letting go. If addiction is about denial, recovery is about accepting what is.

As we spend time in the program, we learn something unexpected and amazing; Life is so full of twists and turns; it's easier to follow along than to try to straighten them out. It's easier to have fewer expectations because, after all, we have no control over the future or the present.

Can I practice letting go?

Higher Power, help me to be open, flexible, and accepting in my recovery.

As they say, "If you have to control it, it is already out of control." Letting go of control and putting my day into the Care of my God, makes for a better day.
