I just want to throw out the question of does any one else still get a little anxious right before their AA anniversary of their sobriety date??? I keep the anniversary of my sobriety date very clear in my mind and on my calender cuz it is really my 2nd birthday and a chance at a new life with the help of AA and a higher power. I don't take my sobriety for granted and I know I can still blow it even after all this time... Does any one else feel this way???? Inquiring minds want to know! I WANT TO KNOW!!! Thanks for letting me vent about this----Mistyeve

Around here, we call it PMS. Pre-medallion Syndrome, a state similiar to the other disorder than can upset you emotional state of mine.
After your medallion, it is called "Post-Medallion Syndrome." In truth, many people have relapsed at these times, especially around the one year and five year, ten, fifteen, etc.
For me, I make it a time of gratitude and try to connect with the people who have been there for me in the past year of my recovery. One thing I have learned over the years is that I can't live this program alone, yet the key word is LIVE. Live spelled backward is EVIL. If you haven't LIVED, they say that you have been walking with the Devil. If you walk with God, you learn to LIVE in today.
Thank you for sharing this. I just had a belly-button birthday and my sobriety birthday is only four months away.

It seems the roughest times in my sobriety have always been in the weeks before i have an anniversary. Maybe it's just a seasonal thing. But sometimes i think it's HP's sense of humor ... because i am able to get through by telling myself "if i can make it three more weeks i'll have xxx years". And by the time my anniversary has passed, so has whatever my issue was.

Funny, it is the days and week after mine. I am always backwards, it is after I get a chip. and I remember how far I have come. I am proud but then the anxiety sinks in, like ----------------------------- I must be well, ------- N O never well. So that anxiety -- if that is considered anxiety. good post, thanks Suzanne
