Without a Higher Power, we grasp at material things for security and inspiration. Since they do not give us the ultimate satisfaction we seek, we are left in despair. We need more than bread, but we do not know how to go about getting it.
Food For ThoughtThis reminded me of the saying, "You can't live on Bread alone." Perhaps, it is "Love" but bread has always been a big love of mine. The kind is home made, sliced thick, still warm from the oven, slathered with lots of butter. I like how it says that I need spiritual food. That feeling of hunger isn't always about needing to have 'food' but as it says here, we need to have faith and reach out to our Higher Power. www.hazelden.org/web/public/thought.view?catId=1903My Higher Power is constant. Like all things, when it comes to bread or other food, 'this too shall pass' and the hunger returns time and time again. At the first twinge, I reach. Other times I think, I gee I shouldn't be hungry, I just ate. A good indicator that I need more than bread and water and any other kind of physical sustenance.

As the saying goes, you can't live in bread alone. I love sweet breads, not brains but bynswe need to balance out life and take slices out for family, friends, work, play, etc.
