"God loves you and He knows all the secrets of your
heart...you've allowed the past to come between you
and God. Turn the past over to God. He's strong enough
to take it. And give Him your future, too....He'll make
you strong enough to live it." - - unknown
I ran across the quote above and it really reminded me
of all the fears and memories that we have tucked into
the deep dark parts of our heart....
Recovery has reminded me that I do have choices and I
don't have to stay stuck in "never never land"... Recovery
has allowed me to find a closer more personal relationship
with my Higher Power. HE is a loving God and never wants
to see me hurting, but sometimes we need to feel the pain
to learn the lesson.
I always have a choice about how to respond to and deal
with my fears. I can cave into it, struggle with it, accept it,
or work around it. I always have a choice, a choice I can make
again and again.... or if I decide I'm not pleased with my choice
I may change my mind again. My choices don't always work
out the way I'd hoped but we can always reassess and find
the best path we need. My Higher Power is a kind and loving
God.... HE's a good listener and will show me the way if I
will only ask!
Today I find it's always better for me to stay in today....
My biggest goal, my sole concern is to make today as good
as it possibly can be. It's my day to do with what I will,
I can take care of things that need to be done, or I can
opt to watch my soap opera.... It's a gift, twenty four hours
to spend as I will! If I am smart, I won't waste one precious
moment of it worrying about the yesterdays! I can learn the
lesson and move on, guilt free and ready to start anew.
Never, never forget, God is just a prayer away.....
Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl
