I'm a big believer in talking a situation out... but sometimes it's just not possible. At that point I will walk away and come back to it a little later and try to look at the possibilities of changing it or accepting it. Standing there and staring at it changes nothings..... Bringing in a bulldozer is another decision I had to toss! The rose is such a beautiful flower, but you can't see the beauty if you focus only on the thorns.....
I read somewhere, that there are three rules for living a happy life... Start each day with a grateful heart.... put your focus on the positives around you.... and end each day with a grateful heart!
God offers me "peace amid the storm" and if I go to HIM in prayer HE will give me strength to face what ever it is.
Peace on the journey, SunnyGirl

I believe there is a song that says exenuate the positive, eleminate the negative, and watch out for Mr. In Between. For me, life is made up of negative and positive. If we focus on the negative we can become negative and yet, I don't feel it can be ignored either, because it doesn't go away just because I don't acknowledge it. It is about what I can do to change the negative into a positive. I also believe there is something positive to be found in every negative.

Last week when I said I'd chair the meeting but BW had also said she would, this is the topic I had picked out ! lol
I do try to change my own happiness by focusing on the positive. I try to avoid spending time with people who are always negative...they tend to suck the life right out of me! It wears me out to hear peopel complain.
Recently I have really needed to put extra effort into this because I was depressed about my life situation at the moment. Now I try to foicus on what is good abotu each day and abotu not having those two jobs I loved any more.
That really helps me keep my serenity! LIN

Like this quote. It is how I try to live my life. No matter, that my son's addiction has escalated, no matter when things get really bad and ugly, I have to redirect my thoughts and my eyes on good and pleasant things as the quote says.
A young man at the meeting yesterday shared that he had a lot of things to do in the afternoon and was feeling very overwhelmed. I went to him with a bag of crystals that I had in my purse and asked him to choose which ever one he wanted, other than a shell that was in the bag.
He chose a green stone that means, attract the postive, letting go of the negative.
That is why I like the fact that this is a one day at a time program. My God never give me more than I can handle and I don't have to do it alone. I know He is with me. For me, crystals are a part of His Creation. I once heard, "Stones don't have legs, because they need people to pick them up and take them to where they need to be."

A few days ago, I shared the quote with a roommate.
