Tonight a gentleman is celebrating 57 years clean and sober. He is one who endorses the fact that he did it one day at a time and that time adds up. He not only is sober, he is a strong example of sobriety. The light shines in his eys and the smile lights up his whole face. My friend phoned me and asked me to go with him to the meeting but I am just in too much pain and know I couldn't walk the six blocks I would need to after we get off the bus. Please keep him in your prayers because his health is not that great.

This man is still sober. His health isn't good, but when you think of it. In January, he will 61 years sober. One day at a time, it does work. I think of all the people I have met in recovery, he has carried one of the strongest messages that I have heard. He is still married, so he must have taken his program out of the rooms and applied them to his life.

This is the man who celebrated 61 years tonight. The man has talking eyes and his whole personna speaks volumns. His whole being radiates, and he is a picture of what sobriety is suppose to look like. He is a shining example and shows me, the difference between sobriety and being sober. He wears recovery well. He postponed his anniversary tonight because of the Super Bowl. I think he deserves to have that choice.

Sadly he has since past but will live on in the hearts of many, mine included.
He radiates glow that made you want what he had. Love you Bill C. thanks for being an inspiration to me.
