I drank like eight pigs. - Mike.
From AlkiespeaksIt is not how much you drink, but what it does to you when you drink it. Personally, I was only guided by the amount the was available. When it was gone, I either went for more, or called it a day or went home and drank more. Saturday was a good example, go to the Legion by noon. Leave and cook supper, go back to the Legion to play darts, snooker or cards and closed the Legion and went home and helped share a 26er with my dad, my ex-husband or both. We have been known to open a second bottle. It wasn't always like that, but at several periods in my life it was. I always say, my drug of choice is more. More of what I am having, more of what I can talk out of you, and more of what ever comes my way. As my pill intake increased, which was like dried up alcohol to me, the less I needed of the liquid variety. I quit drinking, didn't know about AA, my pill intake increased and at the end I was doing both. Yet having said all that, I was in denial about being an alcoholic until I saw myself in a dream, wearing 3" spiked red heeled shoes, acting like the b*tch that I was, that I could see how much alcohol changed me as a person. It didn't help when I heard someone say, "I spilled more than you drank." or the guy who said, "If I drank like you did, I would still be drinking. To pick up a drink in today would be a quick death as I am now diabetic. I don't want to live my life combatting alcohol with insulin.

Never gay to insulin stage thanks to the program. But it was a pill, Metformin, a healthy diet, and no alcohol that helped me on my journey
