I began my journey to recovery by doing an online search. I was looking for others that had friends or family with addiction problems. I found online Nar-Anon meetings and thus began my wonderful adventure in finding serenity. I think it must be about 5 years ago now.....
Today my daughter is no longer active, but I fell in love with these wonderful rooms and the simplicity of 12 step recovery. I have made so many friends, have had my ups and downs, but I keep coming back.
I've made the decision to allow my 19 year old grandson to move in with my husband and I. He has used drugs off and on for several years and is homeless right now. He is making an effort to turn his life around and I want to give him a chance. I am so thankful to have the tools of Nar-Anon to guide me through this new turn my life has taken. I've set some ground rules and I am in the process of setting some new boundaries for myself. I truly feel as if God has given me this opportunity to make a difference in his life.
I will need your prayers and support for AJ and myself.
Your friend in recovery, SG

I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers too Sunnygirl. You have a lot of courage and I'm sure a lot of love to take on this challenge. Everyone needs a chance in life and extending your arms and taking your grandson into your abode and "program" arms may be just what he needs to help keep him straight. Blessings to you, SaraLee

Hi Sunnygirl, My handle used to be Fergie, but I guess for whatever reason I can't use that anymore and I think it is a good thing because like you, I started my journey on line. In Jan. 2001, I was devasted beyond belief and was not able to speak with anyone so I turned on line and found EOR. You guys saved my life. I used to read your words SG and enjoyed them. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you enter this new service. Sincerely, Learning! Fergie was to be as anonymous, but now I am learning.
