I need help. I need to believe that I can have a positive healthy relationship. Does anyone use the program for a relationship. I'm not sure I can date or be with anyoen without the program Aso do I have a "right" to request they enter a program ??

Prayers out for you DJ
You can have a healthy relationship...It takes some work
in answer to your question...
There is not an easy answer to that question.. You can request it..you can suggest it...but it is not a good idea to demand or expect it..The person has to want it for themselves.. You do, however, have a right to set healthy boundaries...We cannot fix the other person, nor can we control the disease or cure it..
I might suggest, ifyou haven't already done so, to fina an alanon meeting where you will find the support you need to learn how to set healthy boundaries and learn to love yourself in order to have the healthy relationship that yur heart desires.

Really great to hear from you DJ!
Your question is a tough one! I was married to my spouse for many years before I asked him to seek treatment. I actually think the bst option is to seek a non drinker and then it woudl not be a problem.
YES...you DO have the right to havbe a healthy relationship. I use program tools all the time....letting go of my need to control, detaching from actions and hurtful words, learning to walk away instead of continuing an argument, using all of the steps and tools to find happinesss within myself instead of expecting others to provide it. Those are some of the things I do.
We have an open meeting here every Wedneday night. It woudl be great if you'd join us! It's 7 PM eastern, 6 central, etc.
