Humor -or- Humorless
"A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road." - - Henry Ward Beecher
I've learned that no matter how difficult a situation is, humor can help me get through it. My Grandmother would often tell me, "you might as well laugh as to cry about it". Each time I recall this saying it makes me smile....
I am very serious about my recovery, but rule #62 "don't take yourself so d**ned seriously" often comes to mind. When I am tempted during a meeting, to try to impress you with my Big Book knowledge and progress, please remind me it's ODAT and we are all equals. Smile often and laugh a lot and you'll be surprised by the results.
Each day when I get out of bed, my only plan is to be happy, it's not wise for me over think the day, just take it a moment at a time....
Peace on the journey, SG

The thought of not being able to respond to life without laughter is scary. Sometimes my humour is a bit sick, but my God and I have been working on this for years. He has worked miracles when I consider what He had to work with. 😉
