PRIDE -or- HUMILITY
“Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real” - - Thomas Merton
Humility requires me to get completely honest with myself and to recognize I have my strong points and my limitations. It's always easier to recognize other people's faults but getting honest and accepting I am human and have defects is the only way I can ever grow. I've decided to quit comparing myself to others and put the spot light on me and see what God and I can fix. ODAT Peace on the journey, SG

As they say, "Pride goes before a fall." We can get so full of ourselves and topple over and our head gets too big to hold up.
Before recovery, if I didn't know the answer, I made sure that I did. There was no way you were going to find me lacking and for me to not to know, meant I was stupid. As a friend once said, "JoAnne, you may be a lot of things, stupid isn't one of them."
Humility is saying that I don't know. That I am open to learning. It is giving my God the credit for His Guidance and Direction in my life. It is about the people He put in my path, those teachers who showed me how to work my program and how not to work my program.
A lot of it like everything else, a change in attitude to aid recovery.
