What comes after ninety days? Ninety-one! 'Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.'
~Will Rogers
There are only two times I have to diligently work this program, the first 90 days and every day after that! Really like this, it has been a bone of contention for me for a long time. So many people here it and think they can stop going to meetings or they are cured when they hit the 90 day mark. Just like those who think they are finished with the steps when they get to #12. It is a program. It is to be worked one day at a time. It is a way of living. I didn't just drink for 90 days and decided to stop. When I got to 90 days, I couldn't always stop, when I wanted to stop. Alkiespeak - Book - Quote
I drank to feel comfortable with being uncomfortable. - Anon.
- Alkie SpeaksI was uncomfortable in my own skin. I was always looking for something outside of myself to make me feel better. The insanity of the disease. Looking for that quick fix. Fix me, make me feel better, right now! In 90 days, if not sooner! I didn't get sick overnight. Why should I think it will only take 90 days to make me feel better? Attachments:

People think that they're going to get sober by osmosis and going to 90 meetings in 90 days. But there's only one way to obtain and maintain sobriety and that's through the program folded within these 164 pages. - Ted H.It is a program of suggestions, but there are some darn well betters. Go to meetings, look for a sponsor, someone who is walking their talk. They can guide you through the Steps, you need to find what is right for you, not is right for them. When you and if you make it to Step 12, what do you do? You go back to Step One. Why? Because you have had a new awareness and awakening, and now you can look at your life with more honesty. This is a healing program. It is one day at a time. Someone over the years asked me "What Step are you on JoAnne?" My reply, "Some days, I need all twelve.

90 and 90 are guidelines to build a firm foundation for your recovery.
It is saying shop around for a sponsor, or get a temporary one. You need to check out groups to find out where you want to call home.
