Prayer is the process of seeing strength in the midst of weakness, peace in the midst of pain, and power in the midst of feeling helpless. Prayer does change things, just as the rain and the sunshine change the seed into seedlings and the ground nourishes the seedling into full blossom.
We have little to regret when our increasing awareness of the divinity within everything allows us to see that everything in our lives up to now has served us and helped us to grow. It is from that knowledge we can be aware of the good in our lives as it flows from God.
Our lives are saturated with divinity, immersed in reality and filled with possibilities as we are established in strength, peace and power. OSWALD CHAMBERS conveys, "Every time we pray our horizon is altered, our attitude to things changed, not sometimes, but every time."

Many times I questioned my right to be in recovery. I thought many people qualified more than I did. I was told that I had to go through what I went through, to get me to where I was in today.
Many times I did pray, but it was more like "God get me out of this and I will never do this again." Often it was bargaining with God for my son or my huband because I thought they were the guilty party and not wanting to take ownership for myself.
I didn't think God had much use for me, wasn't too sure there was even much use in even praying. It took me a while, but I made an amend to Him as well as to myself for the choices I made on my journey to the doors of recovery.
