There are a lot of recovery slogans out there, some are attributed to Al-Anon, others AA etc..... but all of them are wisdom in shorthand! The one I shared below is not often used, but it can be very helpful when there is chaos in my life....

That Which Does Not Kill Me Makes Me Stronger
When we go through turmoil and troubles and we feel like we can't take anymore or we will die, and then we live through it, we realize how much we have grown and how strong we have become.
We are survivors - we have survived. We gain the strength and courage to face the next situation we face, we will be stronger because of the learned experience.

I practice my recovey, one day at a time.... When I am up to my neck in heartache and turmoil, it helps me to remember I only have to get thru today. The more I practice, the stronger I get...... I always try to remember that God is there beside me and will get me thru the day......
Peace on the journey, SG

Good Morning Sunny,
We have one slogan here that is not attributed to AA or Al- Anon. It is one my hubby came up with in early recovery:-
Congregate don't Isolate !!!
Meaning that if you are suffering or in pain get to a meeting. No matter what meeting there will always be some ESH there. Reach out to someone in the fellowship and help will be there.

Congregate don't Isolate !!! Excellent
I am most dangerous to myself when I isolate! It's there that I let the "stinkin thinkin" begin.....
When I reach out to recovery friends or take my butt to a meeting, my negative thoughts don't have time to develop.....
Hugs, SG

Two big ones for me are:
Meditate and Hesitate.
Stop and think before I act, it helped me not to react! I following up with, can I take my Higher Power with me and How important is it?
Utilize not Criticize
Instead of criticizing everything and being negative, look for the positive in any given situation, even if it is only the fact that you learned a lesson on what not to do for your own recovery.
For years I used people, places and things, in today, my Higher Power ulitizes people, places and things to show me a better way of living.

Meditate and Hesitate
Utilize not Criticize Mornin Caressa, Both of these are excellent..... Gonna add them to my list of recovery slogans and use them as I need them. I do have a problem with act -vs- react, old patterns are hard to break. Stop-Think and Pray ....... I have to work hard and practice this one! Most of the time, I am pretty good at staying on the positive side of life. My grandmother always said, "If you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all"..... When I feel the need to criticize, I am going to have to pick this slogan from my bag of mini-wisdoms.... Luv Ya, SG

THINK
This is one that I have looked at and always thought of it as "Think about what you are doing, think about your recovery, think before you speak, think before you act, etc."
The slogan in AA is THINK - THINK - THINK
I heard a speaker once say, the first think is for little thought of the past, it is gone, and except to look at where you came from, and what is following you in today, don't think about all the yesteryears.
The last think is about the future, make plans, but don't plan the outcome. Don't put a lot of expectations and projections into the future because all you have is today and all you have is the past to base your knowledge on.
The middle think is the most important. It is about today. What are your thinking? Is your thought process okay, this is a disease of perception, are you spiritually connected to your Higher Power or your Lower Power. Think about the direction in your life, do you have any? What is your purpose for living. Think of God's purpose for you? Are you maintaining it?
I know God wants me to be the best me I can be today. I also know that I was chosen, I believe everyone who walks through the doors of recovery is. Many times I could have been dead, yet I live. Many people, need this program; yet don't make it. I was brought here and given a second chance at life. I have a message I believe I need to carry, it is my way of making an amend to God and to myself.
So remember the slogan:
THINK THINK THINK

One day at a time. One day's problems, which we will call challenges, one days thoughts, ideas, actions, shortcomings, attitudes, and when you think of it, a day can start any time. I can stop right now and say, "For this 24 hours I will not...." Perhaps I should make that, "I will do..., like the slogan says, "Easy does it, but do it!" What happened this morning is old news, it is gone, I can't change it, and I just have to accept it for what it was and move on. The same with my afternoon, that I would just as soon forget, but that isn't reality. I will process it, and look at what I need to do as a result of what happened today. Step 10 comes to mind. At the end of my day, I will look over my day to see if I went astray, what I could have done better, what words were better left unsaid, and do I owe an amend. Not just my word, but about me and my attitude. Hope your day was a good one.

There are many favorites, but I do like "Each day is a new beginning." A day can start any time. I can pause in my day, say the Serenity Prayer and ask for help in the next 24 hours, which brings us to 'One day at a time.'

Love and Let Love
I loved my life through other people, alcohol, and drugs. In today I choose to live my life totally. Live my Life and detach from any person, place, and/or thing that stands in the way of my recovery.
