We have a choice. We can spend all our time fighting to make things come out our way, or we can surrender to God's will. Peace can be found in accepting the ebb and flow of life.
Just for today: I will surrender my expectations, look to my Higher Power for guidance, and accept life.
NA Just For Today
Had to do a meditation because just showering and getting dressed to go downtown took all my energy, so I had to rest. At the end I found myself saying, "I let go of anything that block my Inner Self from my Higher Power." I just felt this peace come over me and I felt like I could take on the world, and thought, "Yes, we can do this." So different that what it use to be like. For one, I either would have given up and not gone out or I would have just pushed myself through the tiredness and ignored it until I was really hurting. As they say, "Surrender to win." Had the thought tonight, when I surrender and connect to my Higher Power, I am empowered to do what I need to do to stay clean and sober in today. Just for today, for this 24 hours I choose to not use. I am so glad that a day can start any time. Surrender my life, my will, and my worries and cares over to my God. He promises to take care of me if I place myself in His Hands. If I keep an open mind and heart, the good orderly direction is there for me to pick up and apply to my life. I can't, my God can, and just for today, I choose to let Him. Surrender to win. Surrender doesn't mean "Give Up," it means "Give Over."

Ironically, I read the first post, decided to respond to it, looked at the second reply and found out, what I was going to say amounted to the same thing. The truths of the program are long lasting. They didn't begin with me, they are what I heard in the rooms of recovery. Words that were said by others, and/or my interruptation of what was told and what it meant to me. If you didn't pick up a mood altering substance today, you are a winner.
