Gave this book to a sponsee many years ago. I think of it once in a while and wish I still had the book. I find this reading to be totally hilarious. It gives me a very vivid picture. Many times in my life I wanted to be that fly on the wall, yet when you think of it, how many people would love to be a fly on your wall and checking up on you. Do we walk recovery, do we walk a message of recovery, do we walk our talk? The book was given to me as a Christmas present. It was then that I became aware that being 'busy' can be just as much of an addiction as any other substance. "Anything" that takes us out of ourselves that prevents us from taking the time and focus off of ourselves. Yesterday was a good example, I was in a lot of pain, I was fearful because it felt like heart and there was pain around the heart and down my arm, and I had to take time out and do meditation and prayer. I had to let go of the fear and have faith that everything was alright, because the specialist said there was nothing wrong with my heart and he agreed with me that it was fibro. To detach from the pain, I spent 12 hours on the computer, which is way too much time. Normally I would have read, and I didn't start my dishes until after midnight. This kind of behavior can get out of order and make my life unmanageable. When I am too busy to help others, do what is good for me, and have no time for recovery, then I am setting myself up for a relapse, be it physical, spiritual, mental or emotional.
