Hi Dj...
Yep, Pot/ Grass/Weed/Cannabis/Marijuana is a drug and is addictive. Many people minimize its use... I've been guilty of it myself! Don't get me wrong, I am very anti-pot but my daughter was an IV drug user and has been "clean" from meth and coke for almost 10 years. BUT, she lives in California and had a medical marijuana card and smokes pot daily. I have no control over her, she is an adult! But, she is a live functioning adult unlike the person she was while using the hard stuff.
My home is drug free.... she would never dream of smoking it in my home when she's visiting me. What other people think or say is none of my business! I've got a full time job just keeping it honest in my own recovery, have no time to worry about what other people say or do. Just doing the best I can ODAT.
Peace on the journey, SG

Definitely a drug, and I know when I tried it, I got deathly ill. For that I am so grateful, because if I had gotten into it like I did everything else, I wouldn't have lived to make the doors of recovery. I found out that I was allergic to smoke, all kinds when I quit smoking.
Pot is a big enhancer or downer for a lot of people. My own son says that even if he gives up the alcohol and crack, he would never stop smoking pot. I think most addicts start with pot or alcohol and go onto other things when they stop working and giving them the 'high' they are looking for. For some I guess it seems the lesser of two evils, and yet a drug is a drug. It all leads to the same soul sickness.

Yes. I agree POT is a drug.
I think it is strange that so many in AA say just because they have given up one drug and have taken on another, they consider themselves clean and sober. I totally disagree. If a person was an alcoholic and changed over to prescription meds or pot they are not clean. I know a young lady who brags she is 2 years sober just because she gave up her pills. But she still drinks and even got a DUI recently. That kind of thinking is just WRONG.
