Brooklynn, a 13 years old girl was accidentally shot by her best friend, she died hours later. She was my sister's niece by marriage and I've known the family for many years, and I know they are suffering. To me, losing a child has got to be the worst kind of pain you can imagine.
Brooklynn is at peace but please say a prayer for her family.....
Also, I got word this morning that my dearly departed mother's husband, Fred passed away this morning. He lived to be 96 years old and he gave my mother the gift of love an happiness in her final years. He will be missed and remembered always....

Sorry to hear that. For the most part I am pretty tough skinned. But when I read this it brought tears to my eyes. Never had to go through losing a child and hope I don't. I feel sorry for all involved. You said it was an accident. Just think how the girl must feel that did it and now she has to live with it. At 96 death is expected, not at 13.
Wife and kids don't like hearing this. But I have no fear of dying as long as I died sober. One think I want said at my funeral is that: "Win, loose, or draw I have had one hell of a lot of fun being here."
My prayers are out for the young lady and all involved.
Ron

BW and Ron,
Brooklynn and her best friend were both 13 and you are right her friend is heart sick about this. There was an older brother and a younger sibling there as well when it happened. Her father arrived to pick her up before the police & paramedics and found her in a pool of blood. (he will never be the same. IMHO guns are dangerous and need to be locked up where kids can not get them. We've had several kids die this way in Vegas this year.... I don't own a hand gun, but I defend the right to own one if I want to... Can't a person put a lock on the gun???
Thank you both for your prayers and good thoughts..... Honey and I will go to the service but not the cemetery. Hugs, SG

Hey Ron...can't tell you how nice it is to see your little Duck here with us! Hope you come back often!
Sorry to hear your news SG. (((hugs))) I posted yesterday about the 2 year old who drank the sulfuric acid from her mom's meth lab here. The news always is worse with kids are involved. LIN

Brooklynn's service was beautiul, so many of her young friends.... It was almost broke your heart to listen to them sharing about her. She will be missed greatly!
Fred's burial was in Oklahoma and we sent flowers and good thoughts to the rest of his family.
Thank you all for your prayers!

in many states there is a law that guns are not only locked in a secure location especially in a household where there are children and if & when an incident occurs then the registered owners are liable for criminal charges
these tragic incidents could be avoided...I have difficulty getting into acceptance on these things when all it takes is common sence
conrtinued prayers
